Electric Showers

Would you like to replace you old electric shower unit for a more upto date modern type.

What size electric shower unit do you currentley have installed ?

Most houses in the 1970`s had 6-7kw showers installed. The cable size as requierd then was 4.00mm.

Through the 1980`s the common size of electric shower units ranged from 7-8.5kw. Normally this would be installed on a 6.00mm cable.

Present day electric shower units can range from

7-10.5kw In general any shower unit that is installed of 8.5kw and over requires a 10.00mm cable.

You can not replace you old shower unit for a higher kw shower if you have the smaller size cable installed. This would require a new larger cable to be installed and it would also have to have a RCD device fitted to the circuit.

The above information is only for guidence only we would need to confirm your technical requirements of your installation before we can advise you on what size electric shower unit it would be possible to install.

He was thorough in every task he did and very clean and tidy too. One of the reasons why I chose JSD Electrical Services Ltd to carry out this work was because I had very good feedback from previous clients of yours and what can I say right again. Well done and thank you - I am over the moon." Jeff Wellbeck, Broughton Astley
