You electrical quotation must be viewd on a like for like basis. You mite think you are getting a cheap job done. But are you?
Is the electricain or electrical contractor quotating your work to the correct standards anybody can make any type of job cheap if they are not doing the job correctly.
You get what you pay for
You might think i am not botherd that the electrical installation work does not meet all the correct standards. But you can get caught out much later down the line.
With the introduction to Part P of the building regulations this is where you can catch a cold
This is basicly a database of who has carried out what and when on your property. This makes all electrical work fully tracable.
In the last 4 years with Part P we have had enquires from customers that have been caught up in this sort of problem.”The builder said he could do the wiring on our new extension”
And he could do the works much cheaper than an electrican is straight forward nothing to worry about.
This example was a costly mistake for our client because the local building inspector wanted to see the electrical certification & the Part P Documentation on the new extension obvisouly there was none able to be provided. Major Problem for our client. JSD had to completley remove all the wirring from the property and rewire the extension for the client before the Building inspector would pass the new extension off with buiding contol. The out come it costs the customer twice as much in the end.
